Tree Pruning

Tree Pruning

Our bucket trucks can reach a height of 70 feet

One of the wisest investments you can make in your property is to keep the trees and shrubs safe, healthy, and beautiful by maintaining a pruning program. Pruning is very important to the proper growth and health of a tree. This periodic removal of plant parts is done for safety, appearance, structural integrity, the health of trees and shrubs, and restoration after storms or other damage. Proper pruning techniques will also increase the air flow through the canopy, which will help reduce the risk of storm damage. However, be aware--improper pruning can harm healthy plant growth. Choose your tree care professional carefully. Call upon experts who know that no cut should be made without a specific purpose. A healthy, well maintained tree is not only beautiful, but can add considerable value to your home.

We also offer Hedge & Shrub Pruning

Proper pruning improves the health and appearance of shrubs. It prolongs their useful life by removing undesirable branches, such as dead, weakened, diseased or insect-infested.

Tree Removal

Tree Pruning

Tree removal is thought of as a last resort measure, but many trees must be removed for safety; to protect people and property, and to make way for younger, healthier landscape plants. When a tree is deemed hazardous, and there is no other solution, our crew will perform a clean and efficient removal of any tree from your property. All aspects of removal detail will be discussed prior to the job so that you will know exactly what to expect when the job occurs. Our goal is to perform a safe removal and a thorough clean-up of debris.

Buckthorn Removal / Treatment

Buckthorn Removal / Treatment

Buckthorn varieties have aggressively invaded our woodlands and wetlands. As they mature into tall shrubs and small trees, they cast dense shade preventing the establishment of native plants. Once established, buckthorn has the potential to spread very aggressively due to the production of large numbers of berries, each containing 3 to 4 seeds. In addition, the seeds can remain in the soil for up to 6 years before germinating. Removal of these plants is an important first step in controlling buckthorn in our landscapes and woodlands.

Stump Grinding

Stump Grinding

Large roots and stumps can become an eye sore and often attract unwanted pests such as carpenter ants or termites. Rotting stumps can also be a host for fungal diseases. Stump grinding is a process that chips the solid portions of a stump to below existing grade. Depending on the location and type of stump, we will grind out all visible portions of the stump nearly 8 to 14 inches below grade. The holes are generally backfilled with the resulting debris. Usually there is a mound of debris that is left behind which can be used as mulch around existing landscape. Upon request for an additional charge the excess debris can be removed to be flush with the ground.

Chipping / Wood Chips

Chipping / Wood Chips

Woodchips are a by-product of pruning and tree removal work that has been roughly processed by our wood-chippers. They are not a top dress mulch. For a small fee we can deliver 12-14 cubic yards of wood mulch. These chips are good for retaining root moisture under most trees and shrubs.

Organic mulches provide many benefits, including retaining soil moisture, cooling of summer soil temperatures and warming of winter soils, improving soil structure and restoring nutrient levels.

Winter Pruning / Removal

Winter Pruning / Removal

Did you know that winter/ the dormant season is the best time to prune trees?

When the leaves have dropped in the fall, it is easier to see the structure of your trees. When the soil freezes, it reduces impact on lawns and landscapes also equipment can often gain closer access, which can enhance our safety and reduce your costs. This is the time when trees are “sleeping” in turn causing less stress to the tree when it is being pruned. Winter pruning can also minimize the impact on the trees energy supply.

Tree Diagnosis and Treatment

Tree Diagnosis and Treatment

Tree disease diagnosis and treatment begins with an inspection of your trees. During an inspection, we will be able to determine the overall health of the tree, identify specific tree diseases and recommend any needed tree services to preserve the vitality of your property.
